Job description
Amazon's cloud consulting practice is expanding its solution architecture team. You will work directly with enterprise clients across financial services, manufacturing, and retail - helping them migrate, modernise, and optimise complex workloads on AWS.
As a Cloud Solutions Architect you will own end-to-end engagement delivery: pre-sales scoping, architecture design workshops, proof-of-concept builds, and post-go-live optimisation reviews. You produce Well-Architected Review reports, write CDK/Terraform reference implementations that client teams can adopt, and present architectural options to both technical leads and C-level stakeholders.
On the internal side, you will contribute to Amazon's solution accelerator library, peer-review junior architects' designs, and occasionally deliver workshops at AWS events. Travel to client sites across Europe is expected 2–3 times per quarter.
Core focus areas: multi-account landing zones, FinOps optimisation, security posture hardening (GuardDuty, Config, Security Hub), and cloud-native re-architecture of legacy monoliths.

Interview process
Step 1 - Recruiter intro (30 min): background check, AWS cert verification (Solutions Architect Professional required), and logistics.
Step 2 - Technical panel I (60 min): live whiteboard architecture session - design a multi-region, active-active SaaS platform on AWS. Interviewers will probe cost, failover, data consistency, and IAM design.
Step 3 - Customer scenario simulation (45 min): you will receive a one-page fictional client brief and must present a recommended architecture + migration approach in 20 min, followed by 25 min of questions. Evaluates communication as much as technical depth.
Step 4 - Leadership principles interview (45 min): two Amazon interviewers, behavioural questions aligned to Amazon LPs (Customer Obsession, Bias for Action) in STAR format.
Step 5 - Offer: issued within 7 business days of completing the loop.
